The Difference the Right Advice can Make

KiwiSaver is one of the most important long-term investments many New Zealanders will have, yet it’s often left unchecked as life circumstances, goals, and markets change.

A simple conversation could make a meaningful difference to your future.

Key milestones such as buying your first home, growing your family, changing careers, or approaching retirement can all be good reasons to review whether your fund, contribution rate, and investment approach still align with your needs.

No matter your age, balance or level of financial knowledge, the right advice can help you make informed decisions, ensure your KiwiSaver remains fit for purpose, and give you the best opportunity to get the most from your fund over time.

Check. Align. Grow.

Your Future Starts Here

By taking the time to learn your goals, aspirations, and future plans, we can help you choose the KiwiSaver scheme and fund that best suits your needs and risk profile.

Our goal is to help provide you with knowledge so you feel confident about your future, knowing your KiwiSaver is working towards what matters most to you at every stage of life.

Is your KiwiSaver working towards your current goals?

Your KiwiSaver was set up to support the goals that mattered to you at the time, but those goals can change as life moves on. Whether you’re thinking about buying your first home, or preparing for retirement, it’s important to ensure your KiwiSaver remains aligned with what you’re working towards.

Regular reviews can help ensure your fund choice, contribution rate, and investment strategy continue to reflect your circumstances and provide the best opportunity to achieve your goals.

Does your fund match your timeline?

The time you have before needing to access your KiwiSaver can play an important role in determining which fund is right for you.

If your plans have changed, whether you’re thinking about buying your first home, have recently purchased a property, or are starting to focus on retirement, your current fund may no longer be the best fit.

Regular reviews can help ensure your investment strategy remains aligned with your timeframe, risk tolerance, as well as your short or long-term objectives.

Why talk to an advsier?

KiwiSaver is more than just choosing a fund or provider.

The decisions you make around your investment strategy, contribution rate, and future goals can all influence your journey over time and an adviser can help you understand how these pieces fit together.

As life changes, so too can your KiwiSaver needs, regular advice can help you stay informed and make confident decisions best suited for your future.

KiwiSaver is a voluntary savings scheme to help New Zealanders build wealth for retirement and, in some cases, buy their first-home. Children can be enrolled in KiwiSaver from birth by a parent or legal guardian, giving their savings and investments more time to grow. Starting early can make a real difference over the long term, as regular contributions and investment returns have longer to compound and help build a stronger balance for the future.

If you’re employed, contributions are generally deducted automatically from your pay. You can choose to contribute 3.5%, 4%, 6%, 8% or 10% of your gross salary or wages. In most cases, your employer will also contribute a minimum of 3.5% of your gross salary, helping your savings grow even faster.

If you’re eligible, the Government may also contribute 25 cents for every dollar you contribute, up to a maximum of $260.72 each year. Together, your contributions, employer contributions and government support can make a significant difference to your long-term financial future.

Small changes to your KiwiSaver can make a big difference over time. You can transfer to another KiwiSaver provider and or switch the funds that you are invested in whenever you choose, however we strongly advise that you seek sound investment advice before making any changes.

Regularly reviewing your fund and contribution rate help ensure you’re making the most of the opportunities available to protect your savings. You can change and alter how much you are contributing into KiwiSaver by changing the contribution percentage with your employer and or choosing to make voluntary contributions if you are self-employed or not working.

Most New Zealand citizens or permanent residents that normally live in New Zealand and are entitled to live here indefinitely can join KiwiSaver.

Unless already enrolled, enrolment in KiwiSaver will be automatic for all those starting a new job (with some exceptions), and although employees are automatically enrolled they do have the chance to opt out within a certain time frame. For those who are self-employed or not working our advisers can help you find the right KiwiSaver fund and contribution rate to suit your situation.

KiwiSaver is designed to help you save for retirement, so in most cases your savings are locked in until you reach age 65. However, there are some circumstances where you may be able to access your funds earlier, including purchasing your first home, experiencing significant financial hardship, serious illness, or permanently moving overseas.

Every situation is different, and eligibility requirements apply. Our advisers can help you understand your options and guide you through the withdrawal process if you’re considering accessing your KiwiSaver savings.
